As children, my sister and I were over the moon excited when it was time to attend dance class. It was in those classes that we excitedly got to dress up in our tutus, dance around, and laugh ourselves silly. Fast forward to an adult, we all know networking, events, and more are a part of entrepreneurial mapping, so I dove into it fast and furious. Over time, being innovative can get tough amongst all the creative people and opportunities but, the kid in me still loves it when I decided to glam-up for an event. As the mother of my own three daughters, it was through them that remembered the magic of dress-up and fun. I missed the childlike freedom of just being and realized that women need a place where they can do away with the pretenses, status and just be. Because it’s hard to take yourself too seriously in a fun outfit, which further opens one up to the possibility of connecting with another woman, TuTu Classi was born.
TuTu Classi presents various social events where a group of diverse ladies (occasionally we invite the fellas) can come together and support one another, network, and build lasting relationships. TuTu furiously founder Nikki Smith has a passion for events, all things glam and an even bigger passion for public service, so each event held is used to bring awareness to a non-profit organization or cause that we can support.
TuTu Classi, founded in 2014 hosts a yearly women’s empowerment brunch normally held in the month of November. During the remainder of the year, TuTu Classi presents other events and fundraisers to bring awareness to prevailing causes and community outreach.
